TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Terre Haute's Spay and Neuter League is helping families in need get their pets fixed.
Workers signed pets up at the 14th and Chestnut Community Center.
The group helps low-income families by offering low cost spay and neuter options.
It’s goal is to cut down on the number of stray animals.
Organizers said they've got a long history of helping Wabash Valley animals.
"We have been doing this since 1978 and there is still a need now as great as there was then,” said Linda Brown of the league. “It is to help reduce the number of animals: cats and dogs, that wind up not having a forever home.”
Workers take the pets to a clinic in Bloomington every third Thursday of the month.
