TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - By simply wearing jeans to work a local law firm helped raise money for the Officer Brent Long Memorial Statue Fund.
Each year, the law firm, Fleschner, Stark, Tanoos & Newlin, sponsors a year-round "wear jeans to work" program.
Employees are allowed to wear jeans, instead of career wear, in exchange for a $1 donation.
After hearing the Terre Haute Police Department was just a couple thousand dollars short for the bronze memorial to honor Officer Long, the law firm decided to combine June and July jeans money and donated $789.20 to the fund.
The bronze memorial will eventually be placed at Officer Brent D. Long Memorial Way.
