KNOX CO., Ind. (WTHI) - News 10 has been informed that Knox County is under a travel advisory, disaster emergency warning due to the excessive severe weather.

Hazardous driving conditions, due to the snow and ice on highways and bridges, have led to many accidents and slide-offs across Knox County.

Travel has been restricted to emergency personnel only.  Citizens are directed to refrain from all travel, comply with emergency protective measures, cooperate with public officials and comply with the directions of all law enforcement officers.

Residents are urged to stay home and monitor INDOT and IDHS for current road conditions.

The restrictions start this evening, and last until 7:00 AM Thursday morning.
