Local attorney turns to politics

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A local attorney announces a run in politics.

Kal Ellis kicked off his campaign for District 46 State Representative.

Many supporters were out Thursday night for his campaign announcement.

Ellis is a life-long resident of Vigo County and a graduate of Terre Haute South and Indiana State University.

He has been an attorney for 22 years and now wants to try politics.

Ellis said his focus will be on education and providing jobs to the community.

"I think it's very important that we help keep our class sizes small, help to promote policy that provides for our, funding for our educators, our teachers, and to help provide jobs here in our district," Kal Ellis said.

Ellis said he looks forward to giving back to the community.
