TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Hundreds of Indiana State University marched around campus. They were honoring the lost after the tragic events of September 11, 2001.
They gathered around the fountain, where members of the ROTC program presented the nation's colors. Then a student sang the national anthem, followed by a moment of silence.
Students spoke about the importance of remembering the events, and keeping thoughts of the day alive in their generation.
After that the students marched around the campus, in complete silence to pay their respect. They said it's an import occurrence.
"In American history it's just something that you have to remember, because what happens in the past could happen again if you don't remember it," Jade Jones, a student said.
