ISP's Prescription Drug Take Back Day

PUTNAMVILLE, Ind. (WTHI) - On Saturday, September 25, 2010, the Indiana State Police will be participating in a nationwide initiative headed by the Drug Enforcement Administration, (DEA), in the first ever “Prescription Drug Take Back Day.”

The “Take Back” initiative seeks to prevent increased pill abuse and theft and collection sites will be set up nationwide as collection points for expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs for destruction.

This service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

All Indiana State Police Posts, (with the exception of the Toll Road Post in northern Indiana), are designated drop off sites.

Citizens wishing to participate in this program may drop off their prescription drugs for disposal at state police posts including the Indiana State Police Post at Putnamville between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, September 25th.
