Hottest toys of 2012 listed

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - It's a busy Monday for Toys "R" Us in Terre Haute, as parents and grandparents try to cross those hot items of their Christmas list.

"This is grandma's day, shopping for the grand kids, trying to get everything they want to make them happy," Judi Niemeyer said.

However, some toys can be a mission to find.

The countdown for this year's holiday wish list begins with Toys "R" Us's exclusive Tabeo.

It features a seven inch screen, WiFi connection, and comes preloaded with 50 child-friendly apps, with an additional 7,000 to download at no charge.

Next on the list is the Wii U, the first Nintendo console to support high definition graphics.

Leap Frog's Leap Pad2 Explorer makes its way to the third spot.

Lead Pad2 is the leader in educational entertainment, with twice the memory, faster processor and cameras than it's predecessor.

Next, Disney Channel's Doc McStuffins Time for Your Check up Doll.

Over 30 dolls came in a couple days ago and flew off the shelf.

This year's number one pick for the hot toy list is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Secret Sewer Lair Playset.

Employees call this the Barbie Dream House for boys.

However, good luck getting it because they're sold out.

This is the busiest time of year for the store, as it gets three to five truck loads of toys a week.

Still, shelves are more bare, aisles fuller and parents more persistent than ever before.
