Group hosts dinner to help Haiti

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A couple is helping in Haiti with support from folks in the Wabash Valley.

Willem and Beth Charles started Mountain Top Ministries, a mission dedicated to helping the people of Haiti.

Beth is from the Wabash Valley and Charles is Haitian.

The couple divides their time between here and there.

More than six months after the devastating earthquake that rocked Haiti, Beth and Willem say aid is needed more than ever.

"We have a lot of babies right now without food. We have a lot of children in the street. Haiti really needs more help now than they did during the earthquake of January the 12th," Willem said.

Mountain Top Ministries is hosting a banquet on July 30th which is open to the public to explain what things are like in Haiti right now.

It is from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Idle Creek Banquet Center in Terre Haute.
