TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Duke Energy is working with Ivy Tech and Work One to get people work-force ready.

The utility provider donated $47,000 Tuesday to Ivy Tech and WorkOne.

The money is earmarked to build a curriculum program designed to help Hoosier workers improve their manufacturing jobs skills.

District Manager Rick Burger believes the workers will thrive with the right training.

“As you got a great workforce to work with, which you already do, but if you can give them more tools to become a better and stronger person, this is what’s going to happen with this grant we’re providing today,” said Burger.

Local manufacturers agreed to match Duke's grant dollar for dollar.
