Gov. Daniels passes 57 new laws

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Eighty bills were submitted to Gov. Mitch Daniels this legislative session. Here's a look at five of the 57 signed Friday.

House Bill 1068 states that information given to obtain a handgun permit, like name and home address, is private and cannot be published.

House Bill 1100 prohibits county jail inmates from having cell phones while in jail.

Senate Bill 140 allows a court to deny an adoption if the petitioner is a sexually violent predator.

Senate Bill 75 allows microbreweries to sell carry-out beer on Sundays.

Senate Bill 31 prohibits motorcycle handlebars that are higher than the driver's shoulders.
