TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Government buildings in Vigo County work together with security precautions.

Vigo County Juvenile Justice Center says it operates under a system of locks and pass keys.

The center has over 50 cameras.

However, its director says the best security is the center's well-trained officers.

Using pass keys, government employees in Vigo County could one day gain access to each other's buildings.

"The card has a number of benefits. It's light weight, you can carry it in your wallet, you're not carrying around jangling keys and it can be encoded for a number of different applications," Vigo County Juvenile Justice Center Director Jim Jenkins said.

Security at the Juvenile Justice Center is headed up by Vigo County Sheriff Greg Ewing.
