Gas leak causes stir in West TH

WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Several families were asked to leave their homes on South 8 ^th Street in West Terre Haute after a gas leak Tuesday afternoon.

The leak began when someone digging in a yard cut through a 2 inch underground gas pipe.

Workers with Vectren were called out and stopped the flow of gas Tuesday afternoon.

Those workers are expected to return later this week to replace the severed pipe that runs under the street.
