Future construction of apartment complex to follow auction, demolition

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - An old house in Terre Haute is getting torn down to make way for a new apartment complex.

The house located on 2814 Hulman St., and all items within, will be itemized and auctioned off Saturday, with a construction project to follow  after the house is demolished.

With the house coming down, an apartment complex will be built in its place, providing homes for seniors.

Five acres of land will be developed into single-leveled dwellings, specifically built with seniors in mind, equipped with handicapped-accessible entrances.

At least one neighbor feels the new senior living complex will be a good addition to the neighborhood. The neighbor supports having safe havens for elderly people to live.

The development will be carried out by M and P Properties Group, which helps many organizations with custom-built apartments.

The auction will start Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m.
