TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Two area food banks received a sizeable donation Wednesday.
The Parke County Community Foundation awarded $20,000 to Catholic Charities.
It also donated $20,000 to the Parke County Food Pantry.
Organizers say they're happy to help feed the hungry in their communities.
“Well, it’s our mission. The community foundation exists to help improve the quality of life in a community,” said Brad Bumgardner, executive director.
One in six Hoosiers are food insecure.
And more than 40,000 people living in west central Indiana aren't sure where their next meal is coming from.
For more on what these two organizations provide, head to the Catholic Charities website or the Parke County Community Foundation website .
