TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Folks got a head start on their fall cleaning Saturday by getting rid of financial documents.

It's an event that helps the community dispose of those important documents while avoiding identity theft.

"You want to make sure that your documents, your canceled checks, statements, invoices, anything that comes through with account numbers on it, anything that has any kind of personal information on it is properly disposed of and it just, it's a benefit to you," First Financial Bank Marketing Director Terry Tevlin said.
