ROCKVILLE, Ind. (WTHI) - Parke County Deputies work around the clock as Covered Bridge Festivities continue.
The Covered Bridge Festival is busiest time of the year for Parke County deputies.
Police say on Saturday alone, Mansfield had 75,000 travelers.
The Parke County Sheriff's Department has eleven officers and nine reserve deputies.
Chief Deputy Bill Todd, with the Parke County Sheriff Department says when vendors start to set up, all officers are on duty.
"No body gets any time off this time of the year. Everybody works all their days off and additional hours to that. So it's a very busy time for us,” said Chief Deputy Todd.
During the month of October, Todd says accident reports go up and minor crimes increase, all due to the thousands of people they see a day.
