CLAY CO., Ind. (WTHI) - A popular Wabash Valley bridge is now open for traffic.
Crews opened the bridge Friday afternoon, ahead of its expected opening date.
In July, the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) closed the S.R. 46 bridge over the Eel River.
That's in Clay County.
INDOT inspectors had closed the bridge due to corrosive damage to the support structures for the bridge.
Crews spent most of October working on the bridge.
