DUGGER, Ind. (WTHI) - News 10 has reported about the controversy surrounding the Dugger Town Board and two city positions.
Recently, the board announced they were trying to do away with Town Marshal Dave Heaton.
The board president also expressed a desire to have Utility Clerk Carolyn Settles fired.
Both have announced plans to sue the town board.
Thursday, News 10 has learned the city attorney, Doug Followell has resigned.
In a letter to the clerk treasurer, Followell sited pressing issues preventing him from serving.
Town Board officials had planned a public meeting to discuss the Heaton issue February 16.
That meeting is still scheduled, but may be changed if the city does not have another attorney by that time.
