WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A wreck which resulted in one vehicle coming to a stop on its side injured the driver and blocked traffic coming into Terre Haute from West Terre Haute.

Our crew at the scene confirmed with Sugar Creek Fire Department that a pickup was heading eastbound on US 40, when, for unknown reasons, the driver lost control and flipped onto its side just before 8:00 p.m. Sunday.

The wreck occurred in West Terre Haute just before the bridge over the Wabash River.

The driver had to be cut out of the pickup, sustained injuries from the wreck and was transported to an area hospital.

The wreck shut down traffic for some time, while crews cleaned up the wreck; however, the lanes have reopened at this time.
