TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Terre Haute firefighters battle an early morning house fire.
It happened just before 3:00 Thursday morning at 1440, 8th Avenue on the city's north side.
Fire crews found heavy flames shooting through the roof.
A man used the house as a home for dozens of cats.
Police estimate as many as 50 to 100 cats were kept in cages inside the home.
As far as we know, all of the cats made it out o.k.
A cause for the fire has not been determined.
The fire was mostly contained to the attic.
