VERMILLION CO., Ind (WTHI) - On Saturday afternoon Vermillion County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a Demolition Derby at Cayuga Park.

The Cayuga Fire Department was sponsoring the event.

An initial investigation revealed during one of the performances, Gary L. Littlejohn, 27, of Oblong, Ill. was driving when his truck had rolled over onto the roof.

Littlejohn was extracted from the wreckage, treated for his serious injuries at the scene, and then taken to Union Hospital of Clinton for further treatment.

He was treated at the hospital; however, he succumbed to his injuries and died Saturday evening.
