VINCENNES, Ind. (WTHI) - A team of disabled veterans started in San Francisco, Calif. Memorial Day with the plan of riding across the United States to serve as an inspiration to other disabled persons and inspiring the able-bodied to overcome obstacles and challenges in life.

The cyclist groups' goal is to reach Virginia Beach, Va., and they are currently passing through parts of the Wabash Valley to get there.

They stayed the night in Olney, Ill. and started off early in the morning and reached Vincennes, Ind. around noon.

Their plan was to spend the night in Montgomery, Ind. Monday evening.

Most of the participating cyclists are disabled veterans who have participated in events such as those from The Wounded Warrior Project and other national organizations, which have become very popular all across America.

The Sea to Shining Sea Ride is directed and sponsored by World T.E.A.M. Sports . You can learn more about the ride by clicking here.
