Country star visits Terre Haute

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Country music star Bucky Covington stopped by the Terre Haute Police Department on Friday.

The record label Covington is signed with supports families of fallen and injured first responders.

They presented a check to the family of Officer Brent Long for $2,500.

The former American Idol contestant says being linked to such a good cause is an important part of what he does.

"The fact that I can come out and hang out in a parade on a beautiful day in Indiana, I'm going to do what I like to do anyway,” Covington said.
“The fact that people come out and want to see {me} and draw attention to a wonderful cause like that, is absolutely amazing."

Covington signed pictures for the Long family, as well as many others.

Bleve Entertainment supports both fallen and injured police officers and fire fighters.
