SULLIVAN CO. Ind. (WTHI) - Police and more than a hundred community members searched for clues Friday afternoon, with the hope of finding ans wers in a Sullivan County homicide case.

Family, friends and multiple police agencies searched the property around 85-year-old Lowell Badger's home.

Badger was found dead inside his home about a week ago.

State police officials say volunteers walked a two-mile perimeter looking for anything that could help find the person responsible for Badger's death.

"We’re searching for anything that will help the police bring justice and closure to this thing," said Duan Wampler, a close friend of Badger's.

Sergeant Joe Watts with the Indiana State Police said, "We're looking for anything from this home. Electronics, you know, personal items watches, wallets, anything that would come from this home or what appeared to come from any home. That's what we’re looking for and hopefully, if we do find them, they’ll give us an idea of maybe who the perpetrator was.”

Sergeant Watts also said the community searched for three hours.

In the search volunteers found 20 questionable items.

Sgt. Watts says detectives will comb through those items and determine if any could lead to answers.

Watts says the items will be sent off to the Indiana State Police crime lab but results could take a few weeks.
