TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - The community got the weekend started with a breakfast native to Indiana.
The Vigo County Parks and Recreation Department hosted its 27th annual pancake breakfast at Fowler Park.
Folks were served up a plate of pancakes, sausage and of course, its famous maple syrup.
Organizers said the breakfast has turned into a delicious tradition.
"It's a wonderful opportunity to showcase our maple syrup. It's a pure Indiana maple syrup that is made at Prairie Creek Park on the south side of Vigo County and everybody that orders a meal gets some of that syrup today," Vigo County Parks and Recreation Department Assistant Superintendent Kara Kish said.
If you didn't get a chance to participate Saturday, there will be another pancake breakfast Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The parks department expects up to 2,000 people over the weekend.
The Vigo County Parks and Recreation Department invites you to visit Prairie Creek to see the maple syrup being made. You're encouraged to call first. (812) 462-3392
