TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - A local coffee shop hosts an event to feed the hungry.
National musician Michael McDermott is launching his own coffee line right here in Terre Haute and each bag he sells feeds seven hungry kids.
Clabber Girl hosted the event featuring food, music, and an art auction.
McDermott is working with Feeding America to serve 100,000 meals to hungry children in 2011.
He says after the birth of his own child, he's realized how expensive feeding another can be and he's using his talents to help people feeling the tough economy.
"And in this very delicate time of the economy and everything, I think that everyone is worried about how you're going to make the next rent. Or how you're going to make your mortgage or your car payment," Michael McDermott said.
He has shows booked through June and if they haven't fed 100,000 meals by then, he'll keep singing until he does.
