VIGO CO., Ind. (WTHI) - Cobblestone Crossings management submitted a request Tuesday morning to the Vigo County Area Planning committee asking to lift the Stop-Work Order placed on them. According to a press release sent to News 10, Vigo County Commissioners lifted the Stop-Work Order, allowing Cobblestone to build a masonry wall.
The order was issued after it was discovered that Cobblestone Crossing had financial ties with the Area Planning Committee.
The plan is to have the wall run along the perimeter of the Developer of Cobbletsone’s property which is adjacent to the Woodgate subdivision, which is something Woodgate homeowners have asked for to save property value .
According to a press release from the Board of Commissioners of Vigo County, the Stop-Work Order has been lifted; however, before construction of the wall continues, the Cobblestone Crossings Engineers and Builders must present the plans for the construction to the Vigo County Area Plan Commission.
Workers hope the construction of the wall will take place at the same time as the construction of the current development. Progress will continue to be monitored by the Vigo County Area Plan Department, the Vigo County Office of Building Inspections, and the Board of Commissioners of Vigo County.
News 10’s Brittany Earl will bring you the latest as it becomes available.
