CLAY CO., Ind. (WTHI) - One Clay County man was able to breathe a sigh of relief Monday morning after his car became stranded on a county road.
Clay County and additional fire departments responded to a call into dispatch about a man being stranded on a flooded road.
According to firefighters, the man was driving along C.R. 200 E. near Center Point when his vehicle hit high standing water and stalled around 5:30 a.m.
The man was forced to exit his vehicle and climb onto the roof of the vehicle to avoid getting wet.
News 10 was informed the Eel River flooded during Sunday night due to the weekend storms.
Fire crews were able to rescue the man after arriving at the scene around 7:00 a.m.
