CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) - Authorities are still investigating a fatal crash in Clay County Wednesday.

The Clay County Sheriff's Department says at approximately 2:37 p.m., there was a head-on crash involving a 2001 Ford Taurus and a silver 2005 Chevrolet Impala.

The accident happened just east of County Road 425 West on State Road 42.

Nicholas Sutherlin, 20 of Brazil, Indiana was driving the Taurus, with Seth Batchelor, 19 as a passenger. Both Sutherlin and Batchelor were trapped in the vehicle, but were able to get out with assistance.

Both men were transported to St. Vincent Clay Hospital.

Sixty-six year old Charlotte Guthrie of Brazil was driving the Impala. Guthrie was trapped behind the wheel, and was pronounced dead on the scene.

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday morning.
