TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - The Terre Haute Children's Museum grand opening became a huge success.
The long-awaited museum had long-lines of people all weekend long.
In fact, around 6,500 children and parents walked through the museum doors over the last 3 days.
A terrific turnout the museum said they prepared for, but didn't expect to see so many people.
"I mean the weekend was absolutely phenomenal and Saturday was a little chaotic," Terre Haute Children's Museum Lynn Hughes said. "There was a lot going on and a lot of people in the facility but everyone really seemed to have a good time."
The museum saw around 4,000 people on Saturday alone.
The museum said with any new place they continue to work out the kinks. They said the large crowd of kids gives them a better idea of what exhibits work and don't work.
