Car struck energy pole in Terre Haute

Power was shut off for repairs

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A local electric company is finishing up work on repairing a downed power line, after a car struck one of the poles the line sat on.

Duke energy responded with emergency responders to a crash just after 9:00 Monday morning to a crash near the intersection of Locust and 7th Streets..

Terre Haute Police said a driver lost control and struck into an energy pole, breaking the pole at point of impact and causing live power lines to drop to the street.

Duke Energy had to shut the power down in the area as they repaired the damaged. 

The driver of the car was said to be in good condition at this time.
