TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - David Hamblen shops at Mike's Market for his family's Super Bowl party.
"Getting ready to stock up on some chips, and some drinks and get them refrigerated before the festivities," Hamblen said.
Folks like Hamblen across the Wabash Valley are making their Super Bowl plans now, and businesses expect to reap the benefits.
"It does increase business and with it being in Indiana this time, there's a lot more interests, if the Colts would have been playing probably been a whole lot more interest, but it makes for good business," Mike's Market Owner Steve Nasser said.
Right now, they're seeing a direct increase in Super Bowl food buys.
"Snack items, more potato chips, soda pop, paper plates, paper cups, all kinds of stuff that goes along with just a party or Super Bowl party," Nasser said.
They'll be even busier by the end of the week with platters and alcohol sales.
Across town, local restaurants like 7th and Elm Bar and Grille say they're expecting to see double the business for the big game.
They're ready with more employees, drink specials, and twelve televisions.
If you're lucky enough to get a seat on the lower level, you'll even have one at your table.
"We're probably going to be extremely busy. We've always been really busy for our Super Bowls. We already have a party booked upstairs for about 70 people so we'll have the game on all the TV's and we're expecting a big crowd," 7th and Elm Bar and Grille employee Cassi Linko said.
So, as the hours to kick-off inch closer, and Super Bowl fans gear up to watch the New England Patriots battle it out with the New York Giants, businesses in the Wabash Valley expect a touch down of their own.
Businesses like 7th and Elm say the Super Bowl is also an opportunity for exposure.
They're hoping that some first-time Super Bowl customers will think of them in the future.
