TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Three Wabash Valley businesses donated a new police car to the Terre Haute Police Department Wednesday in honor of fallen officer Brent Long.

Vigo Dodge, Scott’s Custom Colors and Mike’s Auto Wrecking all chipped in to buy the department a new black-and-white Dodge Charger.

The new car will replace Officer Long’s car which the department retired last month.

“We thought we would purchase this (car) so they would have a car to replace it with,” said Scott McDaniels of Scott’s Custom Colors. “That way we could use it in his memory for the fallen officer … for protecting our communities.”

Since the new car is being donated, taxpayers will not have to pay to replace Officer Long’s car.
