This ban went into effect on Friday, August 17, and will be in effect until noon on Friday, August 31.
According to the release on the burn ban, the following activities are prohibited in Vigo Co.:

Vigo County Emergency Management said they hope the public will adhere to the burn ban. They call it a matter of safety.
"We're being proactive. We don't really want to you know be hard on citizens, but we also want them to know that we want to keep them safe as well," Dr. Dorene Hojnicki of the Vigo County EMA said.
