Budget discussed in council meeting

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A public meeting Monday night discussed plans to revise our local spending.
The city council, along with Terre Haute Mayor Duke Bennett, Terre Haute Fire Chief Jeff Fisher and residents, met at City Hall to discuss our local budget.
Officials focused on Terre Haute Sanitary District and the Terre Haute Fire Department.
The city is paying about $1 million in overtime.
They plan to get their budget back on track by trimming from within.
"There's probably going to be some cutbacks from within, and hopefully we won't have to go to the public and tax them with a user fee or anything like that," City Council President Don Morris said.
This is their third and final meeting before revisions go before Indiana Department of Local Government Finance in Indianapolis.
