TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - New charges are given in the case of a dead body found in a Terre Haute apartment complex.
Last Wednesday, Terre Haute police found the body of Guy Sutton in his apartment at Dreiser Square.
His brother, Byron, was arrested shortly after in connection with this case.
Wednesday in court, Byron was formally charged with 12 felonies: one Class A felony for defrauding a financial institution, nine Class C felonies of forgery, and two Class D felonies of receiving a stolen property.
Byron Sutton is accused of attempting to withdraw funds from his brother's bank account on several occasions. The forgery charges all stem from Byron Sutton using his brother's ATM card. He is also accused taking a .357 Ruger Revolver from a family member. That revolver was found in Guy Sutton's apartment after his body was found.
Byron Sutton’s trial is set for August 28.
