TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Local breast cancer survivors gathered together to kickoff this year's events, and discuss ideas for new plans.

The Wabash Valley Breast Cancer Survivor Organization met Saturday morning at Coldwell Banker in Terre Haute.

They will distribute pamphlets to different places in the community, to let everyone know what they're working on.

"We want to make an awareness of breast cancer, and what women can do to fight it, and how they can cope with the disease.  We believe that no one faces cancer alone," Wabash Valley Breast Cancer Survivor Organization Volunteer Director Coral Cochran said.

Volunteers meet the second Saturday of each month at Coldwell Banker.

They are currently planning for their next event: the Annual Carnation Sale in May.
