Brazil deals with water issues

BRAZIL, Ind. (WTHI) - Heavy drought conditions mean everyone's keeping an eye on water level, but what does that mean when your infrastructure is more than 100 years old?

It's not exactly an ideal situation for Brazil, or any city. No rain, means they're conserving water, not because they have to yet, but just to be proactive.

However, they've been hit by a few untimely snags. There have been three main breaks total in the last week.

Fortunately, they've only had to turn off water for a couple of hours all together. However, the entire area is under a boil order.

Even though the mayor said it could be much worse, he's not content, "We do have a plan there in place and I think it's a workable plan," Brazil Brian Wyndham said.

Mayor Wyndham will introduce the beginning stages of his water system improvement plan Wednesday at a city council meeting.
