Boy, 9, found unresponsive, pronounced dead at hospital

No foul play suspected

MONTGOMERY, Ind. (WTHI) - A 9-year-old boy was found unresponsive in a barn in Daviess County.

Around 5:00 p.m. Monday, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Officer received a call about a young boy found unresponsive in a barn.  According to a release from the DCSO, the initial caller stated it was unknown how long the victim was there during the time of the call.

Sheriff’s deputies, Southwest Medical and Odon/Madison Volunteer Fire fighters arrived at the scene at 10263 E. 726 N. in Montgomery, Ind.  Upon arrival, crews were directed to a hayloft inside the barn on the property, where they found Michael Stoll, 9, lying unresponsive on the floor.

According to the release, CPR was in progress and continued by deputies and medical personnel.  Soon after, Michael was removed from the hayloft and transported to Daviess Community Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The release stated, after an initial investigation, Michael's cause of death has been ruled accidental; however, the investigation is ongoing.
