TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - The Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Blood Center received donations from the local community for those in need of blood, and offered complimentary Colts memorabilia to the donors.

The Indiana Blood Center, in cooperation with the Colts, hosted the 13th Annual Bleed Blue Blood Drive.

The event took place at Terre Haute’s Indiana Blood Center (IBC) Saturday afternoon.

Though you might have missed your chance for the event, the IBC allows you and other Hoosiers to register to give blood and to help save lives for those in need of blood.

Organizers at Saturday’s event, however, said the response was overwhelming.

“We are helping our local community.  We are helping those who are in need, and we just,” said Tesse Sowers of the IBC, “it’s just a great opportunity for people to come out and donate.”

Colts’ Head Coach Chuck Pagano is in remission after a bout with Leukemia.

Saturday’s donors received a Colts graphic football, featuring Pagano's supported brand Chuck Strong.

The Indiana Blood Center continues to ask for all those that are healthy and able to donate to do so, because every donation helps save lives.

If you would like to schedule an appointment to donate, you may visit them at 2021 South 3rd Street  in Terre Haute, or call them at (812) 238-2495.
