TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Our four-legged family members went for a walk Saturday, to benefit a good cause.
Terre Haute Humane Society hosted the 5th Annual Bark in the Park.
Over 300 dogs and their owners walked three miles through Fairbanks Park.
Organizers raised about $11,000, which will go straight back to the humane society.
"It takes about $1,000 a day to operate the shelter. So, all that will go back to general funds and we'll use it to help run the shelter for medicine for the dogs, for toys, for treats for food, anything and everything that we could possibly need right down to laundry detergent," Bark in the Park Chairperson Stephanie Miller said.
Terre Haute Humane Society is overloaded with Pit bulls, and Bull Terriers.
This weekend only, they're offering the dogs at a discounted price through their Adopt-a-bull Adopt-a-thon.
