TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - The FBI released details on the number of firearm background checks performed in February. The month clocks in as the third most for the FBI in the checks since the service began in 1998.
More than 2 million checks were completed in the month of February. It's the fourth straight month that the bureau exceeded 2 million.
Gun shops report they've been selling firearms rapidly as well.
The recent report from the FBI also revealed that more than 20,000 checks resulted in gun purchase rejects for the 2013 calendar year.
