TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Jim Fisher spends his time flying through Terre Haute's skies.
His previous life is one most of us won't experience in a lifetime.
"It's just an amazingly creative time, and its hectic, you're constantly working but I don't think anybody when they're done, would ever trade it for anything else," Screenwriter and Pilot Jim Fisher said.
Fisher grew up acting and making people laugh.
After graduating college, he acted at Chicago's Second City, a premiere comedy club and school of improvisation.
He acted alongside John Belushi.
After three years there, he and two others developed a comedy trio called the graduates, rubbing elbows with many familiar faces.
They had a series of tough breaks.
"To get away from waiting for the phone call the next day, saying so and so came to see you or waiting to hear if they want to do something with you, I'd be flying because flying totally removes your concentration, and you have to concentrate on the flying," Fisher said.
He continued writing animation, feature films, sitcoms, and variety.
You may recognize Bobby's World and the Beverly Hillbillies movie.
Fisher remembers the good old days, more funny moments than we have time to tell.
Fisher flies high with no regrets, taking priceless memories along with him.
Fisher continues giving back through writing and aviation.
He helps local writers develop their skills through his company, The Writers' Table .
He speaks to college students looking to have a career in the business.
He also gives young boy scouts and eagles their first rush of flying.
