CLAY COUNTY, Ind (WTHI) - All lanes of Interstate 70 are open again following a fatal accident involving four semis and a car.

Westbound lanes had been closed off and on since around 8:30 last night near the Brazil and Greencastle exits.

Indiana State Police tell News 10 the driver of the first semi could not slow in time and struck a large tree that had fallen into the roadway, then traveled off the west edge of the roadway into a watery ditch.

That driver died at the scene, and has been identified as 53 year old Robert J. Reedy II from Brazil.

The remaining three semis and passenger car sustained moderate to heavy damage, but the drivers were not injured.
