TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Duke Energy crews out are out working to replace electric poles around Terre Haute. They are increasing electrical capacity for the Air National Guard. The work is being done on Chamberlain Street in Terre Haute.

Duke Energy is replacing about 70 poles with 10-12 employees working on it at a time.

Other electrical jobs are along Brown and Wabash Avenue. The electric poles need to be relocated as part of the city project. Completion for that will be in a week and a half.

7th and Springhill will be another project they will be working on soon.

With all these projects along the roads, Duke Energy just wants folks to be aware and drive carefully.

"Because, with all these trucks out there working it really becomes congested in some areas. But we just ask people to be safe around out equipment, or jobs out there," Duke Energy’s Rick Burger said.

Weather-permitting, the Air National Guard Project will be completed by mid-May.
