INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WTHI) - Over two-thirds of Indiana counties continue to be under a burn ban.

The Indiana Department of Homeland Security has issued the bans because the drought conditions continue.

Every day tasks could help ignite a brush fire.

Officials say to avoid parking cars on grass, avoid backyard fires, and avoid dropping cigarettes on the ground.

The State Fire Marshall urges everyone to follow instructions put in place by fire department and law enforcement, and to be ready to evacuate if a field fire goes out of control.
