TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A six car pile up on Intestate 70 injures several people and puts a halt to traffic.
The accident happened just before 11 a.m. on Interstate 70 around the 10 mile marker.
The Vigo County Sheriff's Department says six vehicles were involved in the accident.
They say it happened when a semitrailer somehow crashed into other vehicles in slow traffic.
Eight people were injured in the accident with one person air lifted to Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis for treatment.
Traffic was rerouted through Terre Haute for a while as the westbound lanes of I-70 were closed.
