TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - About 250 people were outside in the cold Saturday for a good cause.

Hospice of the Wabash Valley hosted a fundraising event.

Run and Remember is a run/walk to raise awareness for hospice services.

This is the first year of the event. Officials were overwhelmed by the community response.

“So I think people, as much as they’re out here to run for time, it’s an opportunity to run on this amazing course and it’s also a way they can honor their loved ones,” said Carlie Ferrell, marketing liaison.

All proceeds from the event will go to help hospice services for families who don’t have the funds to pay for it.
