TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - There were plenty of events going on Sunday night.
Some were were pretty unusual. Some churches were getting in on the Superbowl Hype.
Maryland Community Church in Terre Haute held what they called a "Superb Owl Party."
It started with a worship service an ended as they served food while people watched the game.
They weren't the only religious group getting in on the excitement.
The Sisters of Providence in Terre Haute are known for helping others, Sunday they helped cheer on the Colts.
They hosted a "SOUPER BOWL" party. The sisters served soup as they watched the game.
They said it's a unique way to celebrate the occasion.
"Oh it's just a good reason to get together and to enjoy each other. Most of the people here I would wager are probably not fans of football, but they're fans of coming together and having a good time," Sister Ann Casper of the Sisters of Providence.
