TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Duke Energy gives area students the chance to view nature up close.

The company teams up with The American Eagle Foundation every year to put on an eagle presentation for kids.

Four schools are picked each year for the show, and, Friday, students at Davis Park Elementary and Benjamin Franklin Elementary got to partake.

Live eagles were brought in, and students learned how Duke Energy works to protect nature and the environment.

Officials said the students always enjoy it.

"This is so exciting. These kids are really interested, and their eyes just light up. And we're so proud of Duke Energy to be able to do this for the community,” said Rick Burger.

Burger said these school presentations are followed by their annual Eagle Viewing Day at generating stations.

The public is welcome to come out to the generating station in Cayuga for the free event Saturday, January 28 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Burger said you will get a chance to see eagles on the river, as well as their Birds of Prey presentation.
